I'm realizing that my love affair with the oils is about support and connection.
This time in my life is so much about support, about sensing, appreciating, and allowing myself to be supported. It's an active support based on growing awareness of deep connections, energetic links and patterns and exchanges that together knit a light, flexible, and incredibly strong web that I am coming more and more to rely on. This is an adventure for someone who's been chronically self-sufficient.
I experience the oils as part of the supporting web and also as part of my discipline in developing conscious awareness of and appreciation for the web. I feel an inner mandate to reduce the noise and amplify the signals I perceive so that I am a better and clearer vehicle for intuition, insight, and the simple joy and, sometimes, sorrow of being part of Life. Working with the oils is like an immersion program in the language of another life form. I begin in ignorance and learn by picking up impressions, experimenting with interpretations, mimicking native speakers.
If this sounds like mystical nonsense, I have to agree with you. It sounds that way to me, too. But the experience is as palpably real as that of eating a beautiful ripe melon for breakfast on a sunny morning. I know when I am fed.
