How much should you pay a coach?

Coaching can be a significant investment. Here are some of the things I think about when I hire a coach:

1. What am I hiring this coach for? What do I expect to achieve or obtain as a result of this work?

2. How confident am I that I can produce those results with the help of this coach?

3. How much time do I expect to spend on this process? (Am I hiring a coach to help me achieve a short term objective, as an ongoing part of my personal and professional development, or???)

4. How committed am I to attaining these results?

5. What does the coach charge?

6. Is there a minimum time commitment?

7. What other resources will I need to invest in this relationship? (Time? Books? Assessments? Trainings?)

7. What is the value of the results I am seeking? Is it in keeping with the fee?

8. Do I currently have the resources to pay the fee without straining my finances?
