When I’m a good match for a group, it’s palpable during our work together. There’s a spirit of camaraderie and lightheartedness that belies the amount of work we get done and the seriousness of the issues we take on. Participants who have been mired in negativity or discouragement start thinking in a new way. Gaps between factions shrink as each person wakes up to his or her unique contribution to the whole. Individually and as a group we begin writing a new story in which every player has a chance to shine.

Is it always like this? I wish. But I can say that over the years I’ve gotten pretty good at recognizing where the magic is. Add to that the fact that, much as I love to speak, I prefer not to travel more than once every month or so and you can be confident that I’d rather you hire someone else unless we are both confident that I will do a terrific job for you.
